Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, and Kevin Richardson join the cast of The Cleveland Show
Variety is reporting that the cast of The Cleveland Show is going to be nice and diverse:
Mike Henry, who has voiced the character of African-American character Cleveland since “Family Guy’s” bow in 1999, is white.
Now, thesp Kevin Richardson (”The Cleaner”) has been tapped to supply the voice of Lester, a white “redneck” who lives next door. Richardson is African-American.
That should make for some interesting table reads — the first of which for “Cleveland” will take place Thursday.
Also joining the cast are Sanaa Lathan (”Love & Basketball”), who will play Donna, Cleveland’s new love interest. Donna is a single mom with two kids, one of whom will be voiced by Nia Long (”Soul Food”). Long will play Roberta, a rebellious teen. - source
I’m really willing to give this show a try; I’ve been a big fan of Cleveland for a while now (of course), and obviously I think Seth MacFarlane is a comedic genius, so anything could happen.

Big ups 2 Seth Mac 4doing this! Coulda been Quagmire but that show would be too wild for fox, maybe a Quagmire movie where he plays a international male escort or an up and coming porn star. Anyway, The Cleveland show adding Sanaa and Nia will be amazing. Nia has range and a dope voice, she’s intelligent and urban, which is a great fusion. Sanaa will be interesting, she’s seems reserved but obviously can do comedy, great motherly voice. Just hope it won’t be a UPN version of Family Guy, but a spinoff with soul, combined with black and universal humor.
