Would George Carlin have created Family Guy if he had had the chance?

Interesting article in CanWest this week on how (among other things, mostly how horribly offensive Family Guy is, blah blah blah) recently deceased comedian George Carlin
might have, if given the chance, created Family Guy himself. Here’s a snippet:
Unapologetically irreverent. Questioning authority and making it funny. Finding out where the line is, and then deliberately crossing it. A thorn in the side of popular culture.
That could easily describe the late comedian George Carlin, who passed away last week from heart failure at age 71. Fans of Family Guy know, however, that it just as easily describes the cult animated TV hit created by Seth MacFarlane. Had Carlin been born a generation earlier, and had he been a TV comedy writer rather than a standup comedian, social satirist and professional curmudgeon, he may well have created Family Guy himself.
I actually tend to agree with this conclusion; George Carlin’s humor has definitely been passed on to Family Guy and Seth MacFarlane; hopefully, Seth and the gang will keep it as relevant and thought-provoking as George always managed to do.

Seth MacFarlane couldn’t carry George Carlin’s raggedy old dick-sock. The idea that he’s somehow inherited Carlin’s spirit or some shit is downright offensive.
