Is director Dan Povenmire leaving Family Guy?
Interesting blurb from Dan Povenmire, who is one of the uber-talented directors at Family Guy; apparently, he’s working a double shift for Fox AND Disney (yikes):
You see, even though my new show is now in full production, part of my deal with Fox was that I would continue to shepherd my final episode through to shipping, which means I have about 3 months of overlap with the two shows. So sometimes I go into Family Guy early in the morning and try to get everything done there and then drive back to Disney for the rest of the day.
…I know that this sounds as though I am complaining, but I am actually having a ball and after all, I asked for this, I actually worked night and day for a year to give myself this kind of schedule and this will all let up a bit in October when my last FG episode will supposedly ship. Wish me luck. I hope all of you are well.
Does this mean that Dan’s leaving Family Guy? I hope not; he’s very talented and is a snazzy dresser.. (I made that last part up.)
