Here are the Griffin Family’s New Year’s resolutions:
Peter Griffin: To use my intestinal gas in more creative and constructive ways.
Lois Griffin: To stop thinking about that yoga instructor at my gym.
Brian Griffin: Cut down on consumption of my own crotch.
Stewie Griffin: Spend more time admiring Abercrombie & Fitch window displays.
Meg Griffin: Teach myself how to shave my legs.
Chris Griffin: I know I’m young, but it’s never too early to start eating more fiber.
And the Simpsons:

Homer Simpson: In 2009, I will finally get around to voting for President.
Marge Simpson: I’ll try to be more assertive if it’s okay with everyone else.
Bart Simpson: I plan to raise a family of skunks in Principal Skinner’s car.
Lisa Simpson: I will make the world a colder, greener, jazzier place.
Grampa Simpson: Let’s just make this the best 1933 we can.
And American Dad:

Stan Smith: To try and understand one Maya Angelou poem.
Francine Smith: To find out why jerk chicken is called jerk chicken. I hope it’s not why I think.
Hayley Smith: To date a guy who has at least part ownership in a car.
Steve Smith: I am hoping to reinstate Pluto as a planet with the ultimate goal of it getting me some action.
Roger Smith: To buy a Labrador Retriever, raise it, love it and stand naked in front of it to gauge its reaction.
Klaus Smith: I will touch Ricky Martin somewhere on his head or face.

The characters of Peter and Brian are very similar to Larry and Steve from the shorts The Life of Larry and What a Cartoon: Larry & Steve, which feature a moronic man who adopts a talking dog and puts the dog through hell, and were both written and directed by Seth MacFarlane.
Before Seth MacFarlane created the idea of a regular half-hour series, he conceived of the Griffin family appearing as characters in animated shorts to appear on MADtv. Many of the regular voice actors (including Alex Borstein, Phil LaMarr, Debra Wilson and Nicole Sullivan) are Mad TV alumni. Alex Borstein was the first cast on this show and is the only “official” cast member as the voice of Lois Griffin.

Hi Family Guy fans! Hope you all had a great Christmas holiday and got everything you wanted. Here’s the latest from Fox and my own super sleuthing on what we can expect in January:
January 4: No new Family Guy; all four Fox animation shows are pre-empted for a special episode of “24″.
January 11: Again, no new Family Guy due to “24″.
January 18Family Guy due to the NFC Championship game.
January 25: Probably (hasn’t been confirmed yet) repeats of “Love Blactually” and “I Dream of Jesus“.
The following Sunday is February 1, which is Super Bowl Sunday, so obviously we’re not going to get anything new that day. Looks like the first date we can expect a new Family Guy episode will be February 8, 2009.

PETER: So I can drink beer and watch TV? Because, you know, “Kiss Saves Santa” is on.
CLIP FROM “KISS SAVES SANTA”
KISS #1: But, Mrs. Claus, who would kidnap Santa?
MRS. CLAUS: Well, Ace, that’s what I want you boys to find out.
GENE SIMMONS: Someone stole Santa? That does not rock!
KISS #2: Easy, Gene. Guys, let’s go save Christmas. To the Kiss Copter!
KISS: Yaaay!
BRIAN: So, Peter, did you get everything you wanted for Christmas?
PETER: You bet. A week’s vacation, a new VCR. And best of all, my own copy of “Kiss Saves Santa.”
TITLE: Kiss Saves Santa
CLIP FROM “KISS SAVES SANTA”
(SANTA HOLDS HIS GUITAR)
KISS #1: You just practice that guitar, Santa. Next time we’ll let you do a solo.
MRS. CLAUS: (laugh) Don’t encourage him!
EVERYONE: (laugh)

This recession is hitting a lot of people pretty hard. The latest to be hit? Family Guy. Here’s more from TV Week:
“In these challenging economic times, we’ve asked all of our showrunners to trim their production budgets by 2%, an assignment which they have all embraced,” a 20th spokesman said. “Everyone understands that revenues are down and these steps are necessary to protect our business.”
The budgets for these shows are so enormous that I don’t think a 2% cut is going to affect anything much, but still, it’s definitely not a good sign for our economy.

According to SciFi.com, Seth Green (Chris Griffin) is getting his own comic book series based on his character Oz from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. Here’s more:
As for the arc’s storyline? “Oh, that is top secret, my friend, but it’s super cool,” Espenson said, adding: “You’ll see a wolf or two. There might be a wolf.”
Will Oz have a new love interest? “I don’t think wolves mate for life,” Espenson said slyly. “I think there could be a new mate. We’ll see.”
I really need to get the Buffy seasons on DVD; it’s a good show that I just really never got around to watching.
